I am a fan of (most things) PBS. Downton Abbey, Sherlock, Wallander, Call the Midwife, etc...many moons ago as a teenager, the original Brideshead Revisited, and occasionally The Professionals. Anyway, tonight I stumbled upon The Crimson Field. ( continued...Collapse )

What your little toe will look like after an 80 pound, 16 month old "puppy" steps on it. ( Bruises, not graphicCollapse )

I came across these photos when catching up on the Outlander
series. This handsome young man, (Romann Berrux) reminds me of a young Ray Doyle. Based on my own interpretation of course. What do you think?

Watched the Vicious Special on PBS. Hilarious! I love Derek Jacobi and Ian McKellen. They are so great together.

Ever try to find a tv show or film that you can't remember the title of and can't find anything on the internet that remotely reminds you of it? That's what I am dealing with. It will drive me crazy until I figure it out. I can see scenes in my mind, but nothing matches the search parameters I use. Now I'm questioning whether it was a tv episode or a film. GAH!

I went back to work in March. It's been okay. I still get easily tired, but I am on "light duty", so mgt does not give me a hard time if I leave early or show up late. anyway... one of the managers (we call them Chiefs) told me that there was an email sent out regarding my medical issues, status and illness when I was in the hospital. I was dumbstruck. First of all, that is a complete violation of privacy, not to mention HIPPA rules. It took some time, but I was finally able to get a copy of the emails that were sent. I am now in the process of making an FOIA request. Once that is complete, I intend to make a formal complaint against the individual who sent the email that discussed my illness, as well as the manager who forwarded the same information to the other managers on my job. This is the same person who was constantly calling my family while I was in the hospital, (in ICU) and they did not know at the time whether I would live or die. I was that sick. To be presented with this information months after the fact... I just don't know what to think.
I am stressed out and pissed off with all this crap. Health issues, medical bills, now work issues... when will it end? I have five years to go until I can retire. It can't come fast enough.

Finally heading home tomorrow from my sisters in Buffalo. Makes me happy!! I love my sister, but we CAN NOT LIVE TOGETHER for extended periods of time. She has three dogs, I have three dogs and in a 1000 square foot house, that is too small for six dogs and two adults. We have been here a month. I am eager to get home, continue my therapy, see my Docs and get my dogs back to their routine. Believe it or not, dogs, (just like kids but they don't talk) have routines that they get used to.
It's a long drive, 360 miles, about seven hours with one stop for gas and rest room. A friend came down by train from home to keep me company and take over driving if I get tired. Don't think I will, but the company will be nice.
Had my last PT session here today. The therapist did a recheck, to see how I have progressed since day one. Apparently, I have made good strides! I can walk a good distance without my cane, ride the bike for 20 minutes at a decent rate and resistance, bend, stretch, etc... without to much pain or exertion. Still get short of breath quickly but they said that is an aftereffect of the pneumonia. Also contracted MRSA in hospital due to a previous staph infection which affects the entire immune system. My body sucks but my mind is still good!
On the road this morning! Talk to you soon when I get back to my comfort zone.

My three dogs and I are staying with my sister while I recuperate. She also has three dogs. Six dogs and two adults in a small house. So far, no issues. The weather has been great! In the 50's and almost 60's last week. No snow either! Some rain, but will be sunny the next week. Starting to get a little bored, but I have physical therapy next few weeks and lots of reading and surfing to do. I hope you all are enjoying your holidays!
Here are some random pics. The first is from my hospital window, in the middle of the Adirondack mountains. ( Dog picsCollapse )

My 'baby' boy turned three on December 12! Meggie also has a birthday sometime in November, she is eight now. I love them both so much, it is ridiculous. Tucker, the baby, is nine months now. He acts it and lets everyone know it as well. Think of any child you know on a sugar high with no 'OFF' button. At least the dog can't talk.
The rest of my life has been a little crazy. ( Dr's, hospitals and dogs. Oh My!!Collapse )
